Meet Keboetsoe Lephogole, the owner of fashion label Rain Queen Creations. Her background is analytical chemistry but her real passion lies in fashion. The fashion line came from her struggle to find clothes she really liked.
While working full-time she enrolled to study pattern-making and sewing and soon she began making clothes for herself. Her designs drew the attention of people around her who were clamoring for her clothes and so Rain Queen Creations was born in 2012.
Rain Queen Creations makes clothes for the free-spirited woman who remains true to herself despite the current fashion trends. Their garments are beautifully expressive and made from natural fibres that are durable, breathable and biodegradable.
The company’s studio is based in Marshalltown in Johannesburg and is frequented by a steady flow of loyal customers. Keboetsoe says even international clients love her work.
If you’re looking for clothes that aren’t mainstream visit the Rain Queen Creations online shop: www.rainqueencreations.co.za or find them at the Bryanston Organic and Natural Market on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Keboetsoe’s parting shot was this: “Your idea matters more than you can ever imagine, the world wants to experience it and you owe it to yourself to express it (otherwise it’ll keep haunting you)”. Keboetsoe we salute you for being a queen.
