Nandipha Somlota: How to bounce back after a setback

This is 35-year old Nandipha Somlota, a self-confessed ‘liker of nice things’ and the founder of clothing and beauty line Nylon & Thread.

After being hospitalised due to work stress in February last year, she was forced to rethink her life and prioritise her health. So she poured herself into the things that brought her joy – fashion and interior décor. Nandipha took the plunge in August 2017 and started producing and selling her trademark kimonos and organic body scrubs.

You won’t see her clothing designs on everyone because she only produces a maximum of 5 items each. This stems from her desire to want to be unique. Nylon & Thread’s body scrubs are made to order to maintain their freshness.

Nandipha says: “Entrepreneurship is not easy but your drive, love, and passion is all you need.” Nandipha’s story is proof that it is never too late to pursue your dreams. All the best Nylon & Thread.
