Meet Nyakalo Ndlovu the founder of natural hair care line The Moisture Factory. The mother of three was inspired to start The Moisture Factory after struggling to find products that catered for the different textures of her children’s hair.
She started off mixing Shea butter and coconut oil in jars but was not satisfied with the results. That’s when she approached renowned chemist Johann Kriel, who helped to start brands like Jabu Stone and Black LikeMe, to help her with chemical formulations and in 2016 The Moisture Factory was born.
At present The Moisture Factory is a home-based business with Nyakalo manufacturing, packaging, and marketing the products herself.
The company’s products are not only sulphate, paraben, and mineral oil free, they have a PH of 5.5 and are safe for babies too. The product range includes the curl range, the care range and the swimmer’s range, which ideal for people with low porosity hair.
We all have brilliant ideas, it’s not about how brilliant it is, it is about what you do about it.
Nyakalo says the feedback from consumers has been phenomenal, which she attributes to referrals and recommendations from happy clients.
