This is 22-year-old Centurion native Olorato Major, a student pilot who is working towards attaining her pilot license and pursuing a career in aviation. Olorato, whose mother and brother also work in the air force, initially enrolled to study engineering until she realised her passions lie in the sky.
She wants to build a name for herself as a selfless, passionate and inspiring pilot as well as getting involved in organizations that help previously disadvantaged aspiring pilots.
Knowing how many young people look up to me, motivates me to set a good example.
Every day has been a challenge, but she says she is determined to succeed against all odds. Olorato is not one to shy away from a challenge, she’s a girl who doesn’t major in the minor. We can’t wait to see you in the captain’s seat in the coming years Ms. Major!
