This is 24-year-old Nompumelelo ‘Mpoomy’ Ledwaba, the founder of the coolest nail bar in town— Aneno Nails. Aneno was a natural progression for the gorgeous Mpoomy, who is passionate about entrepreneurship and the beauty business.
What started out as a mobile business grew in demand and in June 2017 began trading as a nail and coffee bar in Melville. Aneno offers a clean, friendly environment for ladies to go let their hair down and get pampered.
The business was established using Mpoomy’s savings as well as a loan from a mentor and currently employs 6 nail technicians. The company prides itself on its excellent service, something which is reflected in its astounding growth and high referral rate since it launched.
Mpoomy wants to see Aneno nails become the brand of choice and to create a franchise model for the company across the country. Mpoomy hopes to continue breaking down barriers and exploring other opportunities in business as well as finding easier ways for female entrepreneurs to get funding.
She proudly refers to Aneno Nails as the dream factory, and it’s easy to understand why. “I want everybody who enters to leave believing that our dreams are valid.”
If Mpoomy’s story teaches us anything its this: start where you are, with what you have. She’s the epitome of a queen!
