Liziwe Ntshweza: Economist creating safe corporate spaces

Meet 26-year old Eastern Cape-born economist Liziwe Ntshweza. She currently works as an associate at one of Africa’s largest economics-based consulting firms. Her field of work was driven by her interest in social and economic development in Africa.

“I think that some of the problems we face as a continent offer some interesting opportunities for smart and potentially lucrative solutions that we develop ourselves,” she says.

Liziwe is also deeply passionate about the empowerment of black women in corporate spaces, especially pertaining to their femininity and blackness. Her blog, Malkia, is a safe space for young women to gather and learn from each other. In it, she also shares her experiences of how to navigate the corporate world as a young black woman.

I hope that where ever life may take me I will find myself fulfilling whatever purpose the universe has planned for me and that I will feel fulfilled in that.

Liziwe says she hopes to be remembered as someone who lived a full life and a life of service. One of her key philosophies is to leave the door open for others. Liziwe keep blazing that trail!
