Meet 40-year-old Patricia Monaghan, a former projects director at an interior design house who left to pursue something that would harness her skill set and the essence of who she is. She has always been the one in her family tasked with putting together gifts so starting Wonderling was a natural progression of her talents.
Wonderling sources and curates luxury South African artisanal gifts and aims to showcase local talent. The main focus has been on corporate gifting and understanding a clients brand in order to create the perfect gift box.
The company starting operating as a fully-fledged business in March last year and was financed using a loan that Patricia took out in order to buy samples and materials, to develop the brand and for marketing the brand. Wonderling prides itself on its excellent service, attention to detail and bespoke boxes – there is no ‘one size fits all here’.
Start with baby steps, develop your brand identity and guard it fiercely.
